Standing all day as a concierge, bank teller, or production line worker can leave you feeling physically drained at the end of the day, with sore muscles and feet. In the long-term, standing for long periods of time can lead to more serious health consequences. Excessive Standing Can Lead to Circulatory Problems

Standing in the same position for hours at a time makes it much harder for your body to effectively circulate blood. In the short term, this can cause tingling in your feet or hands, or for your leg to "fall asleep." In the long-term, the lack of proper circulation can lead to more serious medical issues like blood clots, increased risk of heart disease, and even stroke. These negative health effects can be largely counteracted by taking frequent breaks to walk around and stretch, if this is possible in your workplace.

When standing for long periods, proper footwear is a necessity. You want something that absorbs shock and provides support and stability.
